Here at BuyingAdvice, we will admit that there is nothing particularly thrilling about the Kia Rondo in terms of performance or looks. But, value and practicality are attractive vehicle virtues. And with the Rondo, Kia has once again delivered on those fronts.
The Rondo is best described as a multi-purpose vehicle, a cross between a wagon, minivan and a utility vehicle. It can seat up to seven passengers and has more interior room than a lot of competitors, a long warranty and a nice quality interior. Safety scores are pretty strong, although the Rondo only achieved perfect scores for frontal crashes. The handling and solid insulation make for a nice, relatively quiet ride even with a less stunning V6 than some competitors. Overall there's a lot of value and space to be had with the Rondo.
One of the most direct competitors is the Mazda MAZDA5 which costs a few hundred more and has 30 less hp, though it has sliding side doors and may have a slightly better resale value. Other versatile crossovers that you may want to check out are the Pontiac Vibe and the Scion xB.

Sure, it may be bland and boring looking, but somtimes it's not all about flash and style. People need reliable, safe, and economical transportation (even for up to 7) on a budget and don't want to spend a ton on extra body cladding, chrome trim, or unnecessary accessories.

Cool little CUV/Ute/Wagon/Sedan/Hatchback. Kia's got a nice idea with making a no-nonsense/no-frill vehicle that still performs well in safety, comfort and economy. Maybe they all can take a queue from Kia.

I think Kia has made some strides, but for not much more, you could get the Hyundai Tucson and get an SUV that has won many critics awards. Nevertheless, the Korean's are making great headway...take note GM.

It's terribly boring at least on the outside. But for a low price you can carry seven passengers with lots of storage.

It handles pretty well in road tests, another plus and provides a smooth ride. I don't love the appearance but other factors make it a good choice.

Indeed, style is sometimes overrated, when you consider that a car can be on the road for 10-15 years. Not all vehicle buyers are looking for style; some are looking for safety, handling, good gas mileage, cargo capacity and a good price. When I look at it, I see a car.

The Rondo looks pretty good to me. It doesn't seem boring, and the interior and safety scores are strong. Maybe it's not the flashiest car but it's not a visual dud. The other factors are more important to me, anyway.

This isn't the look I'd really go for. I think the rest of the package is pretty appealing, though. I like the Rondo better than the Scion model.

Give me a deal Mister dealer, and i'll buy anything. Listen style is nice but reliability is key.

I agree style is over rated. Although this vehicle does seem rather bland and mediocre. It still seems reliable and affordable. I'd say its a decent choice.
